Senior Electrical Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Portugal. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and delivering electrical systems for Infrastructure in mission critical Projects, a strong understanding of MEP requirements, and must be registered with the Ordem dos Engenheiros in Portugal.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of electrical systems for mission critical projects, including low, medium, and high-voltage networks, UPS systems, generators, and lighting
  • Design and oversee the development of substations and complex power distribution systems to ensure efficient and reliable energy supply for critical facilities
  • Collaborate with mechanical and plumbing teams to deliver fully integrated MEP solutions
  • Perform calculations, simulations, and detailed engineering analyses to ensure optimal system performance and compliance with industry standards
  • Work closely with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met within timeframes and budgets
  • Oversee and mentor junior engineers to maintain high-quality deliverables
  • Ensure compliance with Portuguese and international regulations, standards, and codes relevant to Infrastructure Projects
  • Conduct site inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting as needed.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Registered member of Ordem dos Engenheiros (Portugal)
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years specifically in mission critical projects
  • In-depth knowledge of low, medium, and high-voltage power systems, including backup power solutions and energy efficiency practices
  • Proven experience in designing substations and managing complex electrical systems for critical facilities with high uptime requirements
  • Strong understanding of Portuguese building regulations and international standards such as IEC, IEEE, and EN
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and simulation tools for electrical systems
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken)
